Hublot was born in 1976 from an idea of Carlo Crocco, descendant of the Italian group Binda, Breil's watch manufacturer, who decided to leave the company to create his own company. He decided to move to Switzerland, a world watchmaking country, where he founded the MDM group and began to study and design Hublot watches.
3 years of research and development were needed to create a watch that combines materials such as rubber and gold. The model was inspired by the nautical world, like the Monaco Classic Week, the regatta dedicated to classic sailboats that takes place under the eyes of the Prince of Monaco and La Palma Vela of Spain. Hence the choice of the name Hublot, a name derived from the French word.
